Campus No. 805 is thrilled to announce the addition of Marianne Gilliam to our team as the Special Events Coordinator for the Stone Event Center. Marianne graduated from UAH in 2014 with a degree in management, but had an interest in event planning. After hearing Dr. Deborah Barnhart of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center speak to a class, Marianne pursued an internship at the USSRC. Following her interview, she was hired on the spot as a full-time employee. During her two and a half years with the Space and Rocket Center, Marianne fell in love with planning events. She is now bringing her enthusiasm and expertise to Campus No. 805!
Q. What do you love most about planning events?
A. I love building relationships with the client. It’s an honor to play a small part in such an important event in their life.
Q. Why did you want to work for Campus No. 805?
A. Easy! I see Campus No. 805 as my next big adventure. I love the freedom I have here to plan events, hands-on, from start to finish. It’s such a unique venue and there are so many opportunities here for distinctive and memorable events. It’s a dream to become involved with Campus No. 805 this early in its development, and it will be exciting to see how far we go.
Q. What are you looking forward to most at your new position?
A. I’m looking forward to spreading the word to Huntsville (and beyond) about how awesome Campus No. 805 is. I’m excited for people to come experience the Campus and to helping the Stone Event Center become one of the preferred venues for special occasions.
