Dance class is back! Huntsville Ballroom is opening a new dance studio, August 10, at Campus No. 805, bringing even more entertainment options to the already buzzing campus.
Huntsville Ballroom offers several different dance classes ranging from a traditional waltz to the cha-cha to swing dancing and will be teaching up to eight different classes a week. Owners Aaron and Victoria Greer have nearly 40 years of combined experience and compete professionally in ballroom dancing competitions.
However, what really sets Huntsville Ballroom apart isn’t its wide range of classes or the dance experience.
“The thing that makes us stand out is that we can make it easy,” said Aaron. “I tend to try to straddle the technicalities of it while still making it simple and easy to understand. To use an analogy, it’s like taking a calculus problem and using addition and subtraction to explain it.”
The Greers are thrilled to be part of Campus No. 805’s vibrant community and to benefit from all it has to offer, including being part of the city’s entertainment district.
“I think the foot traffic and the breweries are an added perk,” said Aaron. “In the past, a few of our clients have asked us to serve alcohol at our weekly dance parties, but we don’t have a liquor license. Now those who want that option can just go pick up a purple cup and come on back.”
Huntsville Ballroom will host a grand opening weekend, August 10 – 11. Friday’s kickoff on Aug. 10, from 7 to 10 p.m., will have prizes (gift cards and free dance lessons) and food. Huntsville Ballroom will also be offering half-priced dance lessons throughout the weekend.
